EMDR

EMDR, short for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a highly structured therapy technique that facilitates patients to briefly focus on their traumatic memories while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation, often in the form of eye movements. This unique approach has been found to reduce the intensity and emotional impact associated with traumatic memories. Extensive research has established EMDR therapy as an effective psychotherapeutic method for aiding individuals in recovering from trauma and alleviating symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

EMDR Consultation

Zina Ortiz is now a Consultant in training or CIT by EMDRIA.EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) consultation is a professional service provided to therapists who are seeking guidance, support, and expertise in utilizing EMDR therapy with their clients.

Rapid Resolution Therapy

Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT) is a therapeutic approach developed by Dr. Jon Connelly that aims to facilitate swift and lasting resolution of emotional and behavioral difficulties, including trauma and other distressing experiences. It is a brief, solution-focused therapy designed to bring about positive change efficiently.

RRT operates on the premise that unresolved traumatic experiences and negative emotions are stored in the subconscious mind and continue to influence an individual’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By accessing and reprocessing these subconscious patterns, RRT seeks to alleviate symptoms and promote emotional well-being.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy

Developed by Dr. Pat Ogden, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy focuses on body awareness and movement to process disturbing events connected to uncomfortable sensation in the body, transforming these memories, or “disconnecting” the memories from the uncomfortable sensations. As you may or may not know, the human body has memory and is a vessel for emotions. The body moves according to these emotions or sensations, expressing thoughts and feelings, without one’s awareness. The body never lies, evidenced by the success of uncovering truths with technologies such as lie detectors.

Somatic Psychotherapy

Somatic psychotherapy is an umbrella term for therapies that center on the mind-body connection. The term “somatic” means “relating to the body.”

Using special techniques, we help you release any pent-up trauma that has become “trapped” in your body. Somatic therapy is rooted in somatic psychology, a body-oriented approach to psychology. Somatic therapies work by addressing the feedback loop that continually runs between the mind and the body.

Brainspotting Therapy

Brainspotting is a therapeutic approach that was developed by David Grand in 2003. It is a powerful and innovative technique used to access and process deep-seated traumatic experiences and emotional distress that may be stored in the brain and body. Brainspotting recognizes that the eyes are connected to various parts of the brain, including the amygdala, which is involved in processing emotions and trauma.

Guided Meditation

During a guided meditation session, individuals are led through a series of verbal instructions that direct their attention to specific aspects of their body, breath, thoughts, emotions, or visualizations. The guidance may involve prompts to relax, deepen the breath, notice sensations in the body, or visualize calming scenes. The purpose of guided meditation is to facilitate a state of relaxation, mindfulness, and present-moment awareness. By following the instructions and focusing attention on the guidance provided, individuals can cultivate a sense of calm, reduce stress, and promote self-awareness.

Psychedelic Assisted Therapy

Psychedelic Somatic and Interactive Assisted Therapy is an approach that combines the use of psychedelic substances with somatic (body-centered) and interactive therapeutic techniques to support healing and personal growth. It integrates the therapeutic potential of psychedelics with the principles and practices of somatic therapy and interactive methods to enhance the therapeutic experience. In this approach, psychedelic substances such as psilocybin (found in certain mushrooms), MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy or Molly), or ayahuasca (a plant-based brew) are used in a controlled and therapeutic setting.

Psychedelic Integration

Psychedelic integration is a transformative process that we, as Licensed Clinicians, offer as part of our therapy services. It involves helping individuals make sense of and integrate the profound experiences, insights, and emotions that arise during their psychedelic journeys into their daily lives. Through reflective practices such as journaling, meditation, and creative expression, we assist clients in exploring the lessons and themes that emerged during their psychedelic experiences.
