ADD/ADHD, Anxiety/Depression, Trauma, Abuse/neglect, Anger issues, Self-harm/suicidal ideations

I have 20-plus years of experience working with children in schools, 17 years as a lead teacher and the rest as an assistant teacher and emergency educator. I have consulted with parents and families on parent/child relationships.  I enjoy working with students who have had trauma or witnessed trauma and/or whose parents have experienced trauma in their lives. I am also interested in working with students who have experienced or have experienced one or more Adverse Childhood Experiences ACES in their lives.

I use an eclectic approach while working with my clients; the techniques that most interest me are solution-brief therapy SFBT, DBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy for children.

My favorite therapy, which I use while working with school students, is SFBT. It helps the clients identify their problems and specific goals they want to achieve. The clients also learn ways and means to get to their goals, and they can measure and track their progress with the help of their evidence-based work. It helps them achieve their goals and desired outcomes quickly.

Being a first-generation immigrant from South Asia, I am aware of the problems and issues faced by Asian families regarding their children and the problems they face at school. I can speak and understand English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.
