EMDR, Vocatus Counseling and Psychotherapy LLC

Modern life can be overwhelming, often leaving us feeling stuck, disconnected, or even numb. Yet, I believe that within each of us lies a source of courage, creativity, and wisdom capable of transforming obstacles into opportunities for growth. This inner agency calls us to pursue our greatest vocation: to become who we truly are. Battle scars, imperfections, and eccentricities included.

I collaborate with adolescents and adults of all ages who seek to process their experiences, recalibrate their lives’ meaning and direction, and cultivate the self-agency to live more authentically. My specialties include trauma, grief and loss, anxiety and depression, addictions, creative blocks, spirituality and religious wounds, relationship issues, life transitions, and career counseling. My own life experiences as an adoptee, father, husband, teacher, and caregiver provide a compassionate foundation for supporting others with similar journeys.

Professionally, I often incorporate approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Jungian psychotherapy, Solution-Focused methods, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Expressive Arts techniques like the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music. With over a decade of experience as a music educator, I deeply advocate for music as a powerful healing tool. As a Career Counselor, I am certified in Individual Placement and Support (IPS), an evidence-based, international approach for supported employment services. No matter the approach, I’m honored to collaborate with you to uncover your inner strengths and create meaningful and lasting change in your life.

Outside of my professional role, I’m just a basic Colorado dude who loves to hike, ski, build Legos with my son, fix cars (often successfully), and enjoy live music and theater.

It’s an honor to walk alongside you as you reclaim your power and rediscover the authentic, courageous, and powerful Self within!
