Good Faith Estimate for Elephant In The Room LLC
As a patient, you are entitled to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” detailing the anticipated costs of your medical care.
According to the law, healthcare providers are required to furnish patients who do not possess insurance or are not utilizing insurance with an estimate of the charges for medical items and services.
You have the entitlement to obtain a Good Faith Estimate encompassing the total anticipated expense for any non-emergency items or services. This encompasses associated costs such as medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Ensure that your healthcare provider furnishes you with a Good Faith Estimate in written form at least 1 business day before your scheduled medical service or item. Additionally, you reserve the right to request a Good Faith Estimate from your healthcare provider, as well as any other provider of your choosing, prior to scheduling an item or service.
Should you receive a bill that exceeds your Good Faith Estimate by at least $400, you have the option to dispute the bill.
It is imperative to retain a copy or image of your Good Faith Estimate for reference.
For inquiries or further information regarding your entitlement to a Good Faith Estimate, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or contact the Colorado Division of Insurance at 303-894-7490 or 1-800-930-3745.
